I wrote the first version of this many years ago and published them in my children's verse.

I changed a few things and here it is again. Hope you like it:)

Do You See?

by Jan Lister Caldwell

Do you ever wonder

Why the sky is blue?

Have you wished upon a star

And stared up at the moon?

Do you stop and see them?

Or do you hurry through your day?

Do you take the time to notice

Any beauty on your way?

Stop and gaze upon the night

As if your eyes are new.

Don’t lose a child’s wonder

Or you will lose a part of ‘you’.

Look at the world with fresh young eyes

No matter what your years

And see the world through a child’s sweet heart

Through the laughter and the tears.
